When Your Master Bathroom Becomes a part Gym-part Storage Room
We’ve all been there. We ring in the New Year with a resolution to lose the extra pounds we packed on during the holidays, or we want to be more fit. So we bring in the ever-judging scale and some exercise equipment to hold us accountable every time we walk into the bathroom. While this is a good step in the right direction—that is, to be more healthy and fit—I would also argue the bathroom is the worst place to store exercise equipment and make this happen. We needed a transformation
I’ll preface this by saying, You don’t need a massive renovation to create a spa-worthy space. Sometimes, it’s the thoughtful details and elements that make all the difference.
The Vision - Concept Idea
During the Consultation visit, We discussed the concept idea of transforming the Master Bathroom by creating more natural light, ample space, and making it more inviting for relaxation without the judgemental exercise equipment. And my client couldn’t agree more!
Soon we started with a complete reset by clearing everything that wasn’t functional as a bathroom decor. Once we had a blank canvas, it truly helped us create a stunning transformation for this Master Bathroom.
The Details That Transformed this Master Bathroom
Roman Shades: Privacy Meets Elegance.
The Windows were beautiful but we needed something to adorn the window so it’s not plain looking. It’s the first thing your eyes go up to once you entered the bathroom. We needed a window treatment. We installed custom roman shades in a soft, grey natural linen that doesn’t take away natural light while still maintaining privacy.
A Vanity Chair: Function Meets Luxury.
This addition was a no-brainer since a vanity area was in-built already, my client would benefit from a vanity chair to transform morning routines from rushed to relaxed. We chose a chair that’s waterproof, an easy-to-clean fabric to complement the overall color palette of the space. It’s beautiful enough to elevate the design but practical enough for daily use.
Custom Soap: Personalized Elegance.
We sourced beautiful custom soap bars displayed in a gold brown accent soap dish, these aren’t just functional items; they’re design elements that add personality and sensory pleasure to the space.
Luxury Bathroom Textiles: The Touch of Comfort.
Nothing says “spa” quite like plush, high-quality textiles that are soft to touch and plush to the feet. We sourced for my client, hotel-quality towels that are thick, absorbent and soft to touch. I tell my clients, the difference between standard towel and luxury ones are quite noticeable immediately. You do yourself a favor by splurging on things your body will thank you for in the long run. Coordinating hand towels and a set of washcloths in the same premium quality completed the look.
Wall Art: The Finishing Touch.
To complete the transformation, we added an abstract wall art—a framed canvas art in muted tones that brings a a sense of calm without overwhelming the peaceful aesthetic. A Black framed Canvas art that complements the bathroom’s hardware, the color palette and provides a focal point that’s calming rather than busy.
The Result
The Lesson: Your Master Bathroom Deserves Better.
In summary, Your master bathroom shouldn’t be an afterthought or a storage solution. After all, it’s where you begin and end each day. It’s where you invest in self-care. It deserves the same design attention as your living room or kitchen.
